The salon near us had a client hurt when the top of the tanning bed fell down and struck her on the back as she was sitting in the bed before she stood up to get out!The full weight of the top slamed into her back. The mechanism that held the top up let go and the top crashed down on her back.Has this happened in your salon yet?Sounds like something you would need to check some tanning beds designs for regularly. What is the bed design in your salon like will it prevent this from happening. What is the best tanning bed top lift design and what is the worst?Experts needed?

Chipppppp different beds use different types of systems. With the most common being pistons or shocks rated for a specific weight. Over time they do need to be replaced but I have never seen a canopy fall on someone and cause injury but if you say so I'm sure it's true. Lucky for you all you have is standups huh ?

True! Now, what are the best designed beds so that this type of injury would not happen to a client.Do some have safer design tops?Anyone have some knowledge on this?It would save many clients and salons, if someone can tells us of the brands that have safer tops.

A friend of mine from CANADA Chippp, had a stand up- I will not mention what brand - but a design error on the bottom door hinge caused the door to fall after a customer was finished her session. The door fell on the wall inside the room the booth was in, and about 5 or 6 bulbs shattered. This client of hers is now scared of booths and NEVER wants to go in one again. This was clearly a design error. Stuff like this could happen, but as far as bed tops falling, sounds to me like a shock maintenence problem.Don't think any design (beds-booths) is 100% better. They all have pros & cons.

You must like to publicly humiliate yourself.Impossible, the design will not let any of that happen. The fans are top mounted and can not fall through the tops. The lamps are covered with steel mesh designed so even the weight of very heavy person falling into them can not cause the lamps to get any contact that could crack them. Are you sure you ever even saw a tanning booth let alone used one?Like I said you sure put your foot in your mouth.18 years of success, we made the right choices.Try as you might to make up some lame story, you only showed your ignorance.

I mean I said it with conviction and as far as you know maybe I was on the design team for the original stand-up. I mean if I throw out facts like because of the rotational force of the fan divided by the # of 1/4 20 screws used compared to the 14 foot/pounds torque needed to release an SAE 8 carbon alloy screw. That under certain vibrational cases the MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) would be approx. 14,000 hrs. Meaning it would be possible for parts of the fan or door/grid to actually detach and cause the failures described above. But than again I'm sure that your ignorance will catch up with you and even if you have been in business for 18 years you will soon have a catastrophic failure that via a lawsuit will cost you your business and lively hood. So don't believe me.

You know Chippp, You Are An Idiot!!!I was up in Canada when this happened, and saw it with my own eyes. Your reply is very ignorant. Mayby I have been in busines for about 8 years less than you but before that I was busy getting my electronic engineering degree. Before oppening my 1st salon, I was involved in a few install & repair jobs for tanning salons. I have seen worst things than this. What I said is true. You are the one with your foot in your mouth. But that's it 4 me. It trully IS a waste of my time talking to you, so don't even bother replying to me.It's obvious your managers/employees have carried you for those 18 years.
