I have seen it both ways, with the clear glass next to the lamp, and also with the blue glass next to the lamp.I have 2 meters, one is a UVA meter and the other is a UVB meter, i will check the output of a 400w facial lamp, thru the clear glass and also thru the blue filter glass and will give you my results of the UVA and the UVB.

Ever wonder why your face tanners or high-pressure units don’t seem to work as well after 700 hours as they did when the bed was new? This is due to a phenomenon called “Solarizing”, which effects all Blue and Black Filter Glass used in sun tanning equipment. UVA is transmitted, but virtually no UVB - a principal requirement in the tanning process - is allowed through. Most photobiologists agree that PURE UVA IS HARMFUL TO THE SKIN. JUST LIKE LAMPS, THE FILTER GLASS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED PERIODICALLY TOO! http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:www.amexport.com/vistalite.htm+uva+suntanning+lamps&hl=en

Sounds very risky to me!Salons that don't know a thing about the filter glass in their facial tanning units. They don't have even the basic understanding!!!Clients you are at risk for extremely high cancerous UVC rays and sun burning from facial tanning bulbs if the filter glass is not installed right or has been replaced with non factory approved replacement filter glass!!!!!

When only a blue filterglass is used it is the UVB filter. When a clear glass and a blue glass is used the clear glass is the UVB filter. In this setup the clear glass is closest to the lamp and the blue is closer to the client. The most current blue filter is MUG6. Oh, and hoser, you don't even have any equipment with high pressure so you have no idea. And again, filterglass does not solarize.------------------Friends help you move, Real friends help you move bodies.
