I am a tech.e I do measure each lamp with and without the acrylic. It is a relative thing I understand. However, I keep records on all of my beds. When necessary I change what is not up to standard.. Be it the lamps or acrylics.

If you strip the acryllics everyday you will have to get new ones twice as often as a bulb change. Everytime you yank out that piece of plastic you are causing hairline fractures. Good luck. You'll be out of money in no time.
