Cool. Glad you will get some help from the electric company.

No, the Electric company is NOT going to help. They said that most consumer-owned equipment is not affected by a "circuit operation". But sometimes a piece of sensitive equipment will fail or malfunction. Sometimes the maufactureres have built-in protection against voltage anomalies, but it is ultimately the reponsibility of the consumer to insure that equipment is protected from unplanned emergency conditions in the electrical system such as this one.....blah blah blah-They denied our claim.

Sorry, read too fast. I would stick it to them hard then. The surge was their fault, right? If a gas station has water in the tanks they are liable for vehicle repair.

You could try your insurance company if the power company wont give in. If you have a good insurance company they may go after the power company anyway.

You could also try to get a number of other people with damaged equipment to come together.
