Exclamation UPGRADING TO A 160w PLUS!

Dear knowledgeable forum members! Through reading a lot of posts, it seems that you all have a pretty good idea of what you're talking about!

I need SERIOUS help please! (Not in the medical sense, I hope).

I bought a 100W, 10 tube phillips canopy and it's not powerful enough. I want to upgrade to a minimum 160W reflector tube bed but have been told that the max output my bed will produce is 100W (doh!). How can I (if at all) upgrade the electrics to accommodate 160W tubes? Would it be cheap enough or should I just part-ex it (if that's possible????) or sell it to buy my 160W output?

Thanks!

Anything is possible but does not really make sense. You would have to change out all the ballast, and possibly some wiring and other stuff.

Never heard of a 160watt canopy!

Re: UPGRADING TO A 160w PLUS!

Just get a 100watt reflector lamp or go to a tanning salon. I'd be surprised if those things even had 100watt ballasts in them. Might SAY 100watt.

10 lamps? That could grown plants maybe. You will never get a tan like you would at a salon. But regardless, its not about wattage, its about lamp output. A high quality lamp will produce a better tan. Try getting some Heraeus lamps or Cosmedicos. Keep in mind my basic bed is 30 lamps for 20 minutes. So if you are looking to get tan with this thing, plan on spending LOTS of time under it even with the best lamp possible.

100W is it, but get FR71/65 lamps and you will get good results.
