Re: New bulbs, acrylic clean, still not tanning?

They should be tanning. I don't get it.

Re: New bulbs, acrylic clean, still not tanning?

The lamp read 74????? or do you mean 7.4? Novus is a great product for polishing your acrylics about once a month that isn't going to stop the UV transmission. Also, if the acrylic have 3k in hours on them it's time to change them as they do break down and stop UV transmission or cut it back drastically. Is this a reflector lamp? I have seen customers put them in backwards?????????????? check that....

I agree, I had reflector lamps and if you don't put them in correctly they won't tan, since then I don't have anymore too much trouble.

Re: New bulbs, acrylic clean, still not tanning?

Thanks I have checked the bulbs, they are not reflector bulbs. Exact same bed, exact same bulbs replaced at same time. Tanning .75, not tanning .74., facial tanning .50, not tanning .11.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

You know, I was going to be sarcastic but this might make sense here.

If you aim the reflector lamps down at the metal reflector it'll still read the same % of UVB but the overall amount of uv will be WAY LESS so it would look the same on the 6.0.

Maybe they are upside down. If the lamp label is facing down then they are in upside down.

Re: New bulbs, acrylic clean, still not tanning?

Already mentioned the lamps being upside down and she said no. What meter are you using? The reading don't make sense. should be like 0.25 etc.

Re: New bulbs, acrylic clean, still not tanning?

I have a solarmeter 6.0, meter reads 74 on the bed, 11 on the face. Reflectors are on the top, but so are the other beds.

Re: New bulbs, acrylic clean, still not tanning?

If you are reading 7.4 or 74 on a 6.0 meter on that bed then you better get the fuque out of it now. That would have a Te time of about 3 seconds. It should not read more then .74 mw/cm² UVB on that bed.

The 6.0 meter is useless without the other two. Don't use it for total output.

Also, you should be running reflector lamps in that bed top and bottom.

Re: New bulbs, acrylic clean, still not tanning?

If you are not using reflector lamps then it will be longer then a 12 minute session. Also, check your voltage at the bed. It needs to be 230 volts.
