ETS beds shutting off and on!!!!

I have searched and can not find any posts that are the same!
We have a Sunstar from ETS. It will shut off and on every few people we stick in there. It doesn't just shut off once or twice it shuts off a dozen or so times.
We have a FST timer and changed the station to see if that was it, it wasn't. We switched the wall switch and that did not help. We disconnected it from the timer and that seemed to work fine, but we cannot run it that way due to the fact that the tanners are left to set their own times.
Could it be the buck booster, starters or something we just haven't thought of? Or is it a timer issue? We have had the bed down for the last few weeks.....
We have to figure something out soon.

Thanks for your help!

Re: ETS beds shutting off and on!!!!

sounds like a timer problem. seeing how you said it was fine when disconnected it. why not call the ETS tech support or shoot brian oshman a private message.

Had same problem recently. Mine was a comm error; bed to 3A. Change the chip inside and re-address Manager.

Re: ETS beds shutting off and on!!!!

The wall switch probably has a triac instead of a mechanical relay. Triacs only work with AC relays. and not DC control systems.

Obtain an FST room switch that has a mechanical relay instead of a solid state triac (solid state relay)

#1, you still have FST - join the Evolution and upgrade to T-Max. #2 It's not the BB or the starters or anything you haven't thought of (otherwise there would be no reason for this post - hehe). #3, when you say you disconnected it from the timer and it worked fine - EUREKA!!!! Probably a bad wire connection from the wall unit to the timer circuit on the bed, ie the two trigger wires to wherever it is they "connect to the bed". That's where your issue is. Hope this helps. Good luck. -Belvy

Re: ETS beds shutting off and on!!!!

You have already switched the wall switches and its sounds to me like this unit has worked for awhile then started having problems. Change the phone jack going into the back of the bed and put a new one on or just crip the one you have going to it now. Also change the phone jack going into the FST. If it runs fine with the by-pass plug in, and you have changed wall swithes then it must be something in the line. If all that doesn't work, run a line down the hall way from the fst to the room and another one from the FST switch to the back of the bed this way you can eliminate any line issues. Good Luck!!!
