Main Contactor on Bed Not Working?

I have an Ergoline e450 and I don't know if the main contactor is working correctly. The bed is halfway assembled. It has the canopy connected, but not the trough. When I plug the bed in, there is a green power light on the control board, and the little numbers show up on the canopy by the buttons. However, I cannot get the bed to power on using the start/stop switch. If I hold the main contactor in, the bed will light up. When I have someone push the start/stop switch on the canopy, I only hear a click somewhere by the main contactor. I then get error codes on the display. Can someone answer the following questions:

1. Is the main contactor controlled on/off by the control board? Right now it only lets current through if I manually force it to.
2. Does the entire bed need to be connected (and in tanning position) for the main contactor to function?
3. Where can I get a list of error codes?
4. Where can I get a pdf of the operating instructions. I thought I saw it on Ergoline's website, but now I can't find it.

Thanks again in advance!

Re: Main Contactor on Bed Not Working?

I would guess since you don't have it fully assembled, there is a safety switch keeping the bed from coming on.

Re: Main Contactor on Bed Not Working?

You need to finish putting the bed together. The lounge has a safety switch and the bed won't run without it engaged.

Re: Main Contactor on Bed Not Working?

Thanks for your help. I will try assembling the bed completely and then running it. One question though:

What is it that latches the contactor?
