Unhappy End Caps for Sun Star Super zx 44

Could someone please give me advice? I have a Sun Star Super ZX 44/443F in my salon. The year is '97 or '99...I not sure of the date as I purchased the salon only a year ago April. The gas spring somehow pulled loose from the end cap, and in the process, broke a portion of the cap near the connection. Although I can reattach the spring, it won't hold due to the broken cap. I have contacted ETS, but they no longer stock this end cap. They were very helpful and gave me other references to contact, but I'm still unable to locate the part. Does anyone have any advise? Thanks so much for your help!

Re: End Caps for Sun Star Super zx 44

Swap the two ends. They fit both sides and have the threaded hole to work on either side. If you swap them you will have a fresh mounting hole to hook the piston up.

The only person I know that may have them is Heartland Tan Systems, 1-800-999-8266. They are hard to find and not to give you bad news but you may not. On some of the older ETS beds, you can referse the ends caps on the bench. There should be a hole on each end of the end cap to put the shock ball in. Basically you will be taking out the shock balls on the existing end caps and mounting them in the other hole then putting them on the opposite side and they should match up. Good Luck.

Re: End Caps for Sun Star Super zx 44

Just have to make yourself a metal plate with a welded nut on the surface which matches the surface interior of that section of the existing end cap and leave say 3 inches or so on each end to brace it on the inside surface of the end cap. Then use your existing ball that came away from the end cap and a large flat washer on the exterior of the end cap and this works fine.

Re: End Caps for Sun Star Super zx 44

this was fixed back in August, much easier to switch the end cap.
