Facial not coming on

I have a Solaris 42 3F that I have always had problems with the facial on....recently, it's a gamble whether it will come on, does not come on at all or it comes on 4 or 5 minutes into the session suddenly......seems like something must be loose, but I haven't been able to get ETS or my the disty that sold it to me to return my call. Does anyone have a suggestion on what to check?

I would start with connections to the ballast (under the bed I believe) - make sure they are not burned at all and are tight. Next I would look at the cord connection on the back of the tray (there should be two cords going to the canopy I think) - check to make sure there are no burned or loose pins. Lastly, I would check the connections into and out of the ignitor for that cartridge. Does the problem move around at all, or is it always this one position even if you put a new lamp in?

no they are not old lamps.....and this unit has 3 facial lamps in it all 3 of them act in unison (if they come on all 3 come on, if they don't none of them do)

Ok. They aren't old. What do you consider not old.

also, normally each facial has it's own ignitor. I've NEVER heard of 3 going bad at the same time. it's rare that they go bad at all.

If you are SURE it's not old lamps (I've seen HP lamps give up after 200hrs in high heat situations) and it's not only happening when the lamps are burning up then maybe it's the ignitors.

Or a safety switch that's not working correctly.

doesn't happen every session, lamps have around 100 hours on them. But it has always been a problem with this bed, new lamps or not, ETS has been no help in pinpointing the cause (over a couple of years now).

Sometimes 3 or 4 clients use the bed and it is fine, then the next person they come on 4 or 5 minutes after the start of the session. It was always very random when the "glitch" would happen, but this last week I've had it happen several times so I put the bed out until we can figure out the cause.
