Sportarredo on the fritz

Since I can't get any help from Sportarredo, I'm hoping that someone here can help with a Summer 75 that times out early. It's not the tmax 3A. In fact, we just moved it to another store that has FST timers and it's continuing to do the same thing. Could this be a control board issue?

Good Morning,

I apologize for the late reply but I was in Italy and got back only now.

If I understand correctly the unit has 2 different kinds of problems:

1) it behave "strangely" when Talking to the Tmax timer (it could be a bad Tmax relay):

2) it shuts off early or raises the canopy apparently with no reasons (check the back-up battery is still working).

I am assuming this unit is still using an MPT3 control board. Some of the problems could be related to the control board iteself or a loose connection in the back of the control board. Have you experienced any power issue, like spikes?

Have your technicians following these steps:

a) first check the connections in the back of the MPT3 (control board) and see if they are ok (even excessive dusts, in an old unit, could sometimes create issues. Just vacuum clean them) and plugged in tightly.

b) If you find nothing wrong, i would verify that there is no loose connections (wires taking power to the control board itself).

If even this test is not showing issues in the wiring and the problems goes on, I would replace the control board.

c) I would check the back-up battery in the control tray and see if it needs to be replaced (you can probably find one at Home Depot or call our office and get one there).

d) I would verify the T-max relay is working fine. It looks like is going bad and loosing response. If you don't have a spare one, call the office and ask for Emmanuele.

These are just some thoughts not knowing the details. Hope this helps.

Have a wonderful Memorial Day.

Re: Sportarredo on the fritz

Here are the timer settings for Sportarredo timers.

These settings are on ther main timer board. Sellect the switch settings for max time. If you are using a T-Max or other external contact, make sure you set the internal timer higher then the desired T-max max time setting. If the timer settings are lower then the T-Max settings the bed will shut off early.
