Re: Store wide issue (Fried Timers)
Several for sale on Ebay huh? Must be because all those people upgraded to the newest FST technology and had to do something with their old stuff? Time wise, and I've run a lot of networks for salon owners, the straight shot configuration could take a couple of days depending on the size of the salon and the layout. Material wise, you need to run 4-wire, preferrably CAT 4 or whatever because it's easier to pull than the flat - and that stuff aint cheap. Now, assuming the salon is still operating the beds manually, it would be more time and cost effective to just replace the boards in the rooms - no ladder work required, each room could be done in about five minutes, and no mess.

Re: Store wide issue (Fried Timers)
Thanks for the coments and the phone calls everyone!!!! Yeah like it was stated the 3A would not have done me any good for the beds, I would not have had any contol over the fan delays and the fascials. Either way, after doing alot of swaping and testing, every timer was fried in the beds and my 2 3A's were also smoked. The com chips on the 3A's were half blown off the board. swapped some chips and we found that the 3A's were totaly dead.
So I would like to thank Complete Tanning Outfitters for helping me out with the repair. They were able to come out super quick and were able to get me up and running in no time! (800) 895-4958 (Super nice people!) Thank goodness for Insurance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Re: Store wide issue (Fried Timers)
Awww, I don't think he doubts me - he definitely disagrees, which is completely acceptable. This issue isn't that unlike "which beds are the best?", they all are, depending on who you talk to. I didn't think there was anything "wrong" necessarily with his suggestion per se. I do think many people that have had FST in their salons might agree with me in principle. In this situation, I think the salon owner needed the "fastest" possible solution to the problem to return to normal operations, and changing out the entire network and timer control hardware would not have been the quickest solution to implement, IMPO. No big deal - people doubt or disagree with me from time to time, and I them, but it's nothing for me to get my undies in a bundle over.
