Uhhh!!!??? An HP lamp sometimes lighting and sometimes not is a classic symptom of an ignitor starting to go bad. To say that an ignitor either works or not is absolutely wrong. HP lampholders causing an intermittent non-lighting does happen too. But that's easy to tell by taking the lamp out an looking at it.
