HELP!

We are thinking about shutting our salon down in six months. We would appreciate any proceedures or tips that we should follow. Our major concern is that we sell minute packages and we do not want to rip off any of our customers.

Re: HELP!

well, be careful about telling your customers that you are planning to close, because once word gets out, no one new will come in and your regulars may not renew. if you know when exactly you are going to close, sell a package that ends on that date, so no one is left with time. if you have people with time when you get down to the last month, notify those people that they have until XX to use their time or it will be lost. Make sure you say NO REFUNDS ON UNUSED TIME or you will have them lined up to try and get money back.

Re: HELP!

Where are you located? Have you thought about trying to sell? If you want, jsut send me a PM if you don't want people to know where you are located.

Re: HELP!

ekc123 and Rob,

Thank-you for the information. We have had the salon up for private sale for about two months. We have had lots of interest, but no serious interest.

Re: HELP!

If I owned a store near you, I would love to honor all of your customers un-used minutes. And, I would probably even consider giving you some form of payment for the client files. If I were you,I would run the business as usual, and about 3 or 4 days before I was going to close - start contacting salons in the area. Tell them you're liquidating your salon and ask if they are interested in purchasing your computer with the client files. Even if they aren't interested in paying you for it, I'm quite certain they would honor those memberships in exchange for the database. In the meantime... list the whole thing for sale. What do you have to lose.
