Re: Electrical installation costs!!!

There are some real crooks out there. I'm putting in a matrix high pressure and the wire (gauge 2) for 75 feet cost $398.00. A transformer for the matrix should not run over $400.00 so he took over $7000 for labor to run wire?

Re: Electrical installation costs!!!

Yep. It was right at the end and the room had been designed for the Ergoline 850. He charged me $5000 for labor and $2000 for parts to change it for the high pressure. I went around and around about it with him and my builder (who of course said the electrician was right). It just came to the point where I wanted to be rid of them, I wanted the place finished, and I wanted to open. Needless to say, I'll never be using either of them again or recommending them.

$5000 for labor? That's 50 hours at $100.00/hr (which is the high end). Crazy!

Yeah, it's making money, but right now it is ALL just going to pay the bills. There won't be a profit for a while.

Question Re: Electrical installation costs!!!

Is 1000 amps really that much?
15 beds...
1-1.5 ton of AC per bed over the norm amount needed to keep the space at temp.
8 30 amp single phase each
2 mid level beds w/ interior AC for acrylic 3 phase 55 amps each
3 triple phase stand ups at 50 amps each
2 3 phase 95 amp each (includind interior AC)
I am setting up new salon and am newbie. Am I off my rocker?

Re: Electrical installation costs!!!

No....If you plan on charging $30 a visit. If you think you are going to charge bottom dollar and rely on volume then PACK YOUR BAGS.

1000amps is going to cost you THOUSANDS OF $$$ EVERY MONTH and that's before you actually run a bed.

Does anyone do a budget anymore?

1000 amps? I run TWO roof top AC units and at the moment 9 tanning beds off of 400 3-phase service.
