Newbie needs some advice!!

Posted 03-19-2008 at 08:59 PM by dwnlschmk
I am looking to purchase a salon for 40,000 it has 5 beds and a massage therapist that rents a rooms every month. She says she is selling due to she's pregnant and wont have time. Shes owned it for 3 yrs and its been there for a total of 10 yrs. Theres room for a nail tech and 2 hair stylist if I wanted...and said it would make more money if I were to have it open more hours than she does. Any info on this would greatly help me.

This biz is about convenience...we're open 7 days a week. 9to 9 Mon thru Thur, Fri is 9 to 8, Sat is 9-6 and Sun is 12 to 6. We do, however cut back to 8pm closing during our slow season and we get no complaints.

i'm from a very small town and i'm open 6 days/wk. 9a-8p. i do take sundays off due to having five kids, a farm, and two other businesses. but being available at odd hours does make the difference.

Convenience is the key... Depending on the area... Smaller town.. Or busy area... You do what the clientell says you do. As long as you make it convenient for them and make them happy, they will continue to come back... :)
