Yes Dont Believe the Hype!! Look for ways to differentiate your salon, dont get caught up carrying the same products and making the same mistakes that other salons do. You will find by differentiating your products, you will make substantially more money off of lotions by not competing on price with other salons.

Look for products that are not so heavily promoted on the internet. Here are a few suggestions:

http://www.skinscience.ca (designed by a dermatologist!! Great selling features, perfect for health conscious tanners. And I am Canadian so I support them as well)

http://www.mrinternationalproducts.com/ (New line, looks good, competitive pricing, and ran by stand up guys)

Can i put Aesthetic services in a tanning salon????

Of course you can!!! I have tried it at my salon and it worked great. There are some things you will have to do however. I found it very difficult at first to get people to trust my aesthetic and spa services when I first introduced them. I did the following to ensure that my salon would be excepted as a spa as well.

1. Slight renovation to make the salon look more like a spa (White Walls, lots of earth tones)
2. Introduced uniforms for my staff (white nurse style uniforms)
3. Began introducing tanning products that offered a more health focused image. I still carry high end products for the California tan and Australian gold lines, however I introduced skinscience tanning lotions. They are a product line designed by a dermatologist, which you will find to be a major selling feature when selling to a spa oriented clientelle. Check out the site http://www.skinscience.ca/.
4. A strong marketing campaign!!! Cant stress this enough! use street promotion to the full extent!!

They key however is to make sure that clients feel comfortable using your salon for there spa needs.

Were you able to find a waiver for the spray tan? If so, I could use one too.
