Big pharma knows how to get to professors, like solar said follow the money. I love how they call this the Sunshine act...

Mr. Grassley has sponsored legislation called the Physician Payment Sunshine Act that would require drug and device companies to publicly list payments made to doctors that exceed $500. Several states already require such disclosures. As revelations from Mr. Grassley’s investigation have dribbled out, trade organizations for the pharmaceutical industry and medical colleges have agreed to support the bill. Eli Lilly and Merck have announced that they will publicly list doctor payments next year even without legislation.

There was a picture of Gilchrest on another site a few years ago, and she looked like a big fat pig. I searched the Internet and cannot find that pic. Here is a more recent one. She appears to have lost about 100 pounds of her fat, and seems to me to also to have had a really bad face lift. She's got that stretched out circus clown mouth that so many bad face lift victims get. She probably did the surgery herself.

Judging by the freckles on her chest she may be a skin type 1 or 2A. No wonder she doesn't like UV and hates tanning beds!

Every time I've seen Holick at seminars he had quite a tan. Maybe he had the previous picture photoshopped to "remove" the color?

Nope, I haven't read his book. I think Gilchrest and Holick both have extreme views and somewhere in the middle is most accurate.

Jennifer Revision # 22: Well hopefully you've learned something by now.

The "middle" is NOT halfway between the extreme views on this subject. Just like the middle is not (or shouldn't be) halfway between liberal socialist and conservative political views.
