Rep Power: 35 | Two sides of the UV coin ..... pro-sunlight physicians point out that most skin cancers are not nearly as dangerous as internal cancers associated with vitamin D deficiency. But what about melanoma, the deadliest of skin cancers? Last year the British Medical Journal attracted attention for a debate between two physicians, one of whom claimed that melanoma is caused by UV and the other who claimed it is not. Because of the uncertainty in debates like this, it's best to plan your personal vitamin D strategy in consultation with a well-read physician and by reviewing medical articles about vitamin D available in libraries and on the web.For more about solar UV, including measurements from a USDA instrument at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin that I manage for Colorado State University, see USDA UV-B Monitoring and Research Program Redirection SOURCE LINK & FULL ARTICLE: Forrest Mims III: UV exposure is good or bad, depending on whom you ask
