A recent article found at www.peopleagainstcancer.net/cosmic suggests that studies show that people who live in warmer climants have higher incidence of skin cancer. No surprises there. However, there is proof that people who live in these areas have lesser incidences of four big types, due to vitamin D: breast, ovarian, prostate and colon cancers are less common in warmer climants. The article also points out that these cancers are bigger "killers" statistically in the US than are skin cancers. How come the "one sided" media never reports this stuff, when reporting the "great hazards of indoor tanning". If you think our media is not full of crap, go back to the 1980's and look at how they reported the AIDS issue. They had many people convinced that having unprotected heterosexual encounters would "surely" cause you to get AIDS, when in reality it was very statistically rare for heterosexuals to get this bad disease. |
