Rep Power: 24 | Although hundreds of studies indicate a correlation between intense sunburn and the development of malignant melanoma, other studies seem to say the opposite. In an article published in the International Journal of Cancer, in 1989, Canadian scientists confirmed having seen a lower incidence of melanoma in outdoor workers, and a higher concentration of this type of cancer in regions with less sunshine. They concluded that constant but moderate exposure is beneficial. A clinical study held with 2,000 patients indicated that there was no relation between melanoma and sun exposure.
