Her's an undocumented tip--You can change the speed at which your computer sends time to your timer (T-max or Questar). This makes the whole computer experience snappier. This involves changing a number in the Windows registry so be careful.Go to RUN and type "regedit." You're in the registry. Open up HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Open "Software." Open "VB and VBA program settings." Open Helios 8 or 9, whichever you're running. Click on "utility." You'll see a number in quotes next to Tmax delay and Questar delay. The default is "1." That's usually adequate for the T-max but if you have a slowish computer, you can try .9 or maybe lower. Doubleclick and change the value. Go to the top--Registry-exit. Saving is not necessary but you must re-boot for the new value to take effect. Don't go too low or you'll lose communication or the time will go over on Helios but not to the T-max.The default "1" is slow for a Questar (at least it is with my old ones that I use.) You can go quite low, even to .2 or lower. Be careful with all this. If you go too low, Helios will intermittently lose connection with the timer and "re-trying" may or not help. You you may have to re-boot. The trick is to find a reasonably fast time with stability.
