Well here is the thing your website would go "down" during the 90 day period so something else happened.

WORD OF CAUTION FOR EVERYONE

If you hire someone make sure to "own" the domain. This is an extremely valuable piece of IP. We always have folks buy them.

What is highly likely in this case is someone developed their systems for them and bought the domains and everything during that process. It's just about the only way to get shutoff overnight as the owner you always have the 90 so your site goes down you really have to be off the ball.

Buy your own domain always. I recently had to negotiate ownership of a domain name for an owner they had to pay 500 plus escrow to get the rights.

In your TOS you need to have specific right to the domain or it will be assumed part of the developers IP.
