Re: Business Plan

A biz plan is a roadmap of your goals and directions you plan on taking the biz from start-up thru 5-7 year projections. It has to be YOUR ideas which includes/involves weeks to months of research.

It is not only used as a tool of guidance for yourself, but banks will want to see one if any loans are involved. Banks are not stupid. They DO NOT want to see one 'copied' or 'templated'. They expect to see graphs, financial projections and much more. They will stand you in a room and pick you and your biz plan apart asking how you came up with the financial projections etc. It HAS to be YOUR plan, YOUR ideas, YOUR blood, sweat, and tears of tedious research.

That being said, the SBA offers cheap/free classes, research help, as does any chapter of SCORE or an SBDC office, usually found at State colleges or local community colleges. It could take a year to present a plan.

Now the kicker. As Parrot said, Tanning is on the SBA hit list for the most high-risk venture. In the early days, 1980's, they gave money away for tanning. With all the bad publicity/health related towards it, and all the salons that closed down, the industry in a slump with no positive outlook, the SBA has lost much $$$$. They put the brakes on any financial gurantees to banks loaning the cash. hence, banks don't touch tanning. On top of that, you have a Prez in the white-house that is anti-small buisiness.....
My advice...stay away from tanning. Go open a nice Starbucks type cafe. People today would rather drink coffee than tan. Craigslist is packed with salons for sale...and there is a reason.
Good Luck..
