True HVLP is inherently loud, but its worth it because of the increased quality of the tan delivered. Some can be put in Quiet boxes and that works ok, best
solution is to place unit in a closet and run the air hose to the area your spraying. You can put sound absorbing materials in the closet to muffle the noise and have the best of both worlds!!! Hope that helps!!
