Re: HELP !! SPOTS ON SKIN THAT WONT TAN

See here is the deal, clients with Tinea Versacular come in and tan. The white spots show up because it prevents the skin from tanning in those areas. This is not from tanning and it is not something that the customer got from a tanning salon. The fact that the rest of the surrounding skin is tanning just makes the pre existing condition evident.

What Tinea Versacular is, is a fungus that grows on the skin surface. It is pretty common and it is not contracted from tanning beds or spray booths. Remedies are applying Selsun Blue shampoo, sun spot remover, prescription ointment, etc... to thew affected areas for two to three weeks and it will go away.

Everyone freaks out that they think it is because of tanning but it is not, it is just that the tanning makes it more noticeable. Educate yourselves on this and then educate your customers. Burying the myths starts with educating yourselves about all aspects of the industry that you work in.
