Utah has some of the best skiing available next to Montana IMO. Park City is more tourist oriented, Deer Valley is very nice and the place to see and be seen but Alta & Snow Bird are the places that always brought me back to Utah. The snow is hard to beat in the canyon where these two are located. It's also where most of the locals flock to.

Deer Valley & Park City are only about a 45 minute drive or so from Alta & Snowbird so where ever you stay you can easily ski at any of the resorts.
