as mentioned the trick is to blend freedom of the independant worker with your needs.
basically you have to treat them as if they leased x amount of space from your building.
then it gets grey areas, you can't tell them what hours to work . or you can't tell them you want them to wear white shirts and black pants etc.. but you can have a dress code for the salon ie ..no shorts& tank tops i believe.. you just have to do a little reading to be sure. As I said it get into grey areas fast, and if you are wrong you owe the irs taxes on an employee. |
