I am really interested in the uv/vitamin D information. We also just had a 21 year old girl die of skin cancer, she was a tan bed regular. She spent the last months of her life campaigning against any type of uv tanning & it was on every tv channel & newspaper. I am really shocked & interested to read that under exposure to uv is dangerous. We are taught from when we are babies to cover up b4 going in the sun. As I said maybe because we are in Oz & the climate is different?

You are talking about the Claire Oliver story. In her first reports she was interviewed about how her parents would take her on holiday to the beaches where she would sunburn and couldn't blame solariums for her melanoma. It is EXTREMELY sad about Claire but tanning has no direct scientific link to melanoma. Sunburn does. The goal of salons is to put you in a controlled environment where you won't let yourself burn and build your tan gradually.

You have started in the wrong thread. You want to go back to the main screen and select the thread entitled "Think Positive About UV Exposure" There are easily 1000 reports on Vitamin D in there. :)
