I do believe (maybe Don Smith can pipe in) that only applies to skin types 1 and 2A - especially displaced ones like from upper Europe to AU where they tend to burn like a barbie on the grille. When they have moles and a family history of CMM then presto... they get it sooner or later.
BUT... higher skin types living in sunny locals actually have a smaller mortality rate from CMM - due to the overall protective pigmentation from UVR - as I recall from a recent study.
If true.... than even "new" sunscreens absorbing UVA plus UVB are not going to prevent any CMM issues. Or they might make it even worse!!!
