Re: Where to buy lotions?

Seriously, this is getting JUST A LITTLE BIT RIDICULOUS. It's a free country and people can think, say, and do what they want (and yes, this includes buying tanning lotions online).

I understand that salon owners are trying to earn a living and make money from their lotion sales yadda, yadda, yadda. You say that salon owners and staff members are 'educated' and provide 'expert advice' on tanning and tanning products and thus are justified in charging exorbitant prices for lotions. As much as this is a good tactic, it's extremely hard to take you seriously when certain members of your 'highly educated and knowledgeable' community make statements like (and I quote) "I had a tanner order lotions online and get ecoli poisoning ..."

Good try, but that is physically impossible and may very well be one of the stupidest assertions I've ever heard. For an infection to occur, a number of E. coli bacterium must physically be swallowed by a human being. (most common causes are eating undercooked ground beef, drinking contaminated water, drinking unpasteurized milk, and working with cattle.)

Basically there is absolutely no way your client could have gotten an E. coli infection from ordering a tanning lotion online. It was a good idea to make up a story like that, but your client could have literally rubbed a bottle full of pure E. coli bacteria on her skin and still there would have been no possible way for her to become infected.
