Wake up 8AM ish to get ready for work, fight my husband to get out of bed. We work in buildings right next to each other so, we car pool. Get the dogs outside and get them in the car so we can leave by 9AM (even though our salon opens at 9AM). Thank god there was no one waiting to get into the salon to tan this morning, but I had to train a new girl today until noon. I walk into the salon and show the new girl how to open (lights, computer, sound system, check beds & rooms that they aren't dirty, etc). Finish up sales training with new girl, watch her on computer, run trial sales to make sure she gets everything. Let's not forget I have a TWO WEEK NOTICE sitting on the computer for me this morning that I knew I would have to deal with after new girl left at noon. Couple of tanners come in to tan, new girl does very well. 11:30AM comes I have to feed & give my dog her insulin shot. 11:45 i grab a quick quaker breakfast bar, that's all i have time for. Noon comes and a chatty tanner sits down for about 30 minutes to talk about her newspaper route, complain about gas prices, her kids college tuition, etc. I check communication log book from last night - girl who put in two weeks notice is *****ing she has no hours and that she was scheduled for a day she asked off. I pass the two weeks notice to my mother in law - we proceed to have a *****fest about how we don't need her and she asks for too many days off anyways. Customers come in - the beds get full - i clean them - more customers come in - i clean. I run out of towels about 2:30PM. My mother in law comes over to fold clean ones for me - i continue cleaning beds. I refill all sanitizers in the rooms around 2:45PM. My insurance agent for life insurance comes in at 3PM to sign papers and looking for his 2 month deposit check. Meanwhile I still take in customers and clean beds in between. One of my girls comes in at 3:10PM to tan in one of the new beds in the expansion area of the building. Another of my girls comes in 45 minutes early for her shift at 3:15PM because she just got out of the gym and had nothing else to do - god bless her little heart. She signs in to work and helps me catch up on dirty beds. We talk about her friend - who is the girl who put in the two week notice. She spills the beans about what the two week notice girl thinks about us. The two week notice girl comes in 2 hours early because she thought she started at 4PM. I approach her to talk about her two week notice. She blames one of the other girls for getting all her hours. I call my mother in law over to talk with her in the back about the schedule and her two week notice. Two week notice girl proceeds to cry about how she loves this job but doesn't understand why she is getting 9 hours one week. We explain that she put in for 2 days off and she can't work with another girl because they have clashing attitudes. Two week notice girl blames all the problems on the other girl. I call two week notice girl out on what she told her friend about us. Two week notice girl then proceeds to say that she doesn't have time for this and walks out. I call other girls to come and cover her shift for this evening. New girl i trained this morning says sure I'll come to work 6-10 as bed runner and open tomorrow for you. Thank god we hired her. I called two week notice girl and said drop your key off tomorrow when you pick up your check we don't need you anymore. I work an extra hour cleaning beds until 5pm. Went to dinner, a little running around. Back to work at 7pm to cover rest of two week notice girls shifts. Left salon at 9PM. That was my day at work.
your day was one of mine a couple of weeks ago! So much drama too involved with this job! LOLOL
