Re: Good idea to offer unlimited?
Minutes or sessions, it comes down to math. One salon in my town does minutes and at first glance it looks like a deal. Until you start sucking them up like water.
We did some comparative math using an experienced tanner as the basis comparing us to competition.
We started them at 8 minutes and bumped them up 2 minutes each time they came in for 10 visits total. That would be 158 minutes of usage.
For 158 minutes, give or take, thats approx $60.00 although you would have to buy 200 minute for $80.00 with them. (.37 cent per minute @ $60.00)
We do sessions and charge $50 for 10 visits. Not to mention you could go the full time of 20 minutes. (.32 center per minute, .25 cents per minute if you go the full time.)
So at first minutes look good since you use what you use and pay for just that. For a sporadic tanner that may make sense. But for someone looking to build a full tan it may not work out so well.
From a salon owner point of view this works out well, from the client end it may not and can be confusing if you start to offer several types of packages. The comp does offer unlimited level 1 use. Its $59 a month and you can go only 12 minutes out of 20, if you want to go longer you buy a minute packages to use with it!!!!
