As for you --- a mystic is just cosmetic, not a "real tan", so no, it won't last more than a few days to a week, depending on how often you shower, shave, exfoliate, etc.
If you are able to get a tan outdoors, although slowly, then you can tan indoors -- but will still have to go slowly. However, if you really NEVER get tan outdoors -- then you shouldn't try to tan indoors either, because the process isn't any different, it is just the safety you get indoors from having your tanning time monitored.
A nice option for you would be something called a "High Pressure Tanning" bed. They oftentimes have a mattress you lay on for half the time and then roll over, although newer ones have an acrylic that gets both sides at one time. These look very different -- the entire bed has "square" looking lamps, about 12" x 12" - not the long white tubes like you see in the other beds. These are very different types of lamps and beds, and allow more of the tanning rays to come through, while filtering out more of the burning rays. They can be great for someone like you that CAN tan, but is very fair.
If you call salons asking for a bed like this, make sure the WHOLE bed has these lamps - none of the regular lamps. Some salons "say" they have high pressure beds, but they really only have beds that have high pressure lamps in the face area or on the top. These are very different, and not for you.
Finally - if you hope to get darker than your "natural" coloring is going to allow, a final option for you would be to COMBINE spray and high pressure tanning. This way you will get a little "real" tan and real protection for the outside burning rays. But the spray will give you the "extra" cosmetic tan that will make you look darker.
Hope this helps -- best of luck!
