2700 sq ft, 10 beds, $3500 highest bill for mid-oct thru mid-nov. 16 tons of air. college town, average 275 during fall semester. averaged 300+ the 2 weeks before spring break. heat has been an issue at times. we are in an older but newly renovated shopping center. top floor, tin roof, and we opened up the ceiling. looking into exhaust system but will have to check with landlord about cutting into structure to vent outside. checked into portable a/c in each room as well. as long as it is below 65 outside, we open 1 of 3 doors and use a fan to pull in the outside air. otherwise, we fight a losing battle. it's mississippi heat! opened june 07. we have 4 unused rooms and are looking to add more beds in the fall but need to fix the heat issue first.
