Re: This is what were are paying for!

Most service members are good, honest people. There's bad people everywhere.

A school principal in Virginia was charged with his wifes murder... I guess all school principals are evil people BOYCOTT SCHOOLS!

megatanman, yeah some people sign up not realizing what they're getting into but I didn't see anyone complain about their son being in the military I saw a PROUD mother expressing her pride, and concern. Our troops are doing their JOBS. They didn't ask to be sent to Iraq. The government said "you're going." They got home, a lot of them their contracts up, supposed to be getting out, guess what? The government said "no, you're going back." That keeps us from having a draft. I don't think we should be over there, but it wasn't my decision any more than it was any one of our service members. If they were given a job patrolling our borders, they'd be doing it as told, just as they are in Iraq and all over the world doing as they are told. Blaming them is like killing the messenger.

Whether or not you agree with the war or any of it, these are people who voluntarily signed up knowing they may go to war, knowing they may get hurt or killed. So you/your sons/etc don't have to. No matter what your view on the war, no matter what the government is using them for, it doesn't change the fact that when it comes down to it our service members are there to defend us. It's a bit short sighted to hold the war against them, or to hold the actions of one bad person against them all. You can support the troops without supporting the war.
