The power cord has five wires. This is so the unit can be converted between single and three phase without having to change the cord. If you run it single phase, which most do, you would pair up the conductors and the fifth is a ground, 1 and 2 are L1 and 3 and 4 are L2. You can slide the drawer out to confirm it.
If you wanted to use this unit three phase then there are some jumpers in the drawer that you move and then you only need 1, 2, 3, in the power cord and the fourth wire is not used. The fifth, the ground is always used of course.
The units are shipped for 20 amp single phase. You can run them on 208 without a booster with good output but can be bumped 230 if you want. At 208 it puts out 65 mw/cm² A+B.
