Here's an example of why I tell my girls to keep their cell phones on them during work hours (on vibrate):
Salon Employee is working by herself, late at night. She's cleaning a bed in one of the back rooms, far away from either salon phone.
A pervert walks in, starts wandering the hall looking for an employee. Finds girl in a tanning room alone. Rushes in, slams door and tries to rape her.
Wouldn't you want your employee to be able to call for help?
The above scenario happened 2 years ago at a salon 45 minutes away from me.
I've told my girls to program 911 as speed dial #9 in their phone, so they can just hold that number down and it will call the police. She doesn't have to even look at her phone, she can hide it behind her back or under a towel she has in her hand.
So, as long as they put it down as soon as a client walks in, and they have all their cleaning done... I'm okay with it.
