Tanning does not cause skin cancer. Over exposure to uv light can cause photo-aging, but just tan smart and don't over do it. Remember, everything in moderation. The health benefits of smart tanning far outway any downside. If your family has a history of skin cancer, you have type 1 skin, and/or have a health condition that you have to take certain medications for you may choose to go the spray tan route. There are some very good spray tan options out there. Just look around. And while you're looking be aware of all the 30 year olds that never stepped into a tanning salon and yet still look 50 and next time you're at the salon and see that 30 year old don't be surprised if they're really 50. Again it has a lot to do with genetics and your overall lifestyle. |
