I am probably going to buy an ETS Wolff tanning bed within the next month, a home unit. Just for the fun of it one night I filled out a credit application to buy a home tanning bed and to my utter SHOCK, I was approved ( My credit isn't all that great because of my hospital bills and my
insurance not paying them on time etc...... ) The customer service person told me that they would be putting in Velocity lamps in the bed, 24-100 watt lamps and 1-400 watt face tanner.
I stated I wanted 1 face tanner because I have been in Wolff tanning beds with 2 and 3 facials and to me the end facial boxes are not angled correctly for full side facial coverage. ANYWAY He stated that the Velocity lamp has small amounts of UVB rays and more UVA and is known as the " browning lamp ". There is also a Velocity Extreme and a Velocity Plus and they are described as being 10 % more effective than the regular Velocity with more UVB rays for faster color. They also have a Velocity SR which is a relflective 160 watt lamp but I assume it is only used for commercial tanning units.
I do NOT want to burn so I am all for lamps with minimal UVB rays but I do know that there has to be some UVB rays to help stimulate the melanin, correct? What other brands of lamps do any of you prefer, 100 watt, non reflective...???
Anny comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and have a great weekend and Happy Holidays !!!
