Re: busy season question

As late as you opened, that is typical. Most tanners probably already had packages elsewhere for "season" and now have drifted off. If you had a strong EFT program from the beginning that may have made that a little less of an issue, but there still is a strong cyclical swing in bodies in this industry.

Advertising this time of year should be kept to a bare minimum (e.g. LOW dollars). Nobody is listening. Email your data base, put a sign in your window, put a wrap on your car with your salon name, work your referrals -- low investment.

Best months are generally March-May. Worst are Sept-Nov.

Plan on a BIG "event" around mid-January/February this year to try to capture your market. Make it your "Grand Opening". Free tan week or weekend (search threads on this) will help. Target all the names in your data base - give incentives for people to bring a friend!

Later this month, start promoting gift card sales - that will give a little "bump" for December.
