Re: The Elephant in the Living Room?

Great post Ted! And that's absolutely right - most people in western cultures do not get an adequate amount of sun eposure on a regular basis to promote healthy levels of Vit D in the body - and so many overdo their sun exposure in infrequent, and random sessions that they end up burning themselves. All thanks to what I just refer to now as "The Message from the Establishment" in major media.

The really sad part of all of this is that a relatively small percentage of medical professionlas actually espouse this viewpoint. Yet, it's the major message people are bombarded with, falsely coming from "The Medical Professionals". Of course the average consumer is going to believe it when they see it on TV and read it in their magazines. And they end up doing exactly what "The Establishment" wants them to do - buy sun stuff! Sun screens, moisturizers, anti-aging creams, and sessions with their dermatologist. Number one way to motivate a person to do something? Scare them. And then offer them the solution and profit.
