He was aware because I think almost every employee out there has a criminal record but he was not aware that you cannot cross borders in US and in Canada if you have a criminal record. He was under the impression that a misdemeanor wouldn't matter but when you have a criminal record the only thing that shows up at the custom is that you have a criminal record and not what you did to get it.
I dont have a criminal record but I have dual citizenship and sure enough everytime I cross the border back and forth I get the third degree because THEY KNOW EVERYTHING!
