Okay I am going to start a little earlier if I run out of time forgive me I still have to go pick up my wife from the airport, okay as I previously stated make sure your areas is clean very clean this is the most important thing everything is taped off and everything is covered, the stain with actually stain anything it touches so you must be very careful, okay if your done with this step --2.-- Okay now it is the time to get ready supplies needed--1 gallon or bigger sprayer, you don’t need anything fancy a typical sprayer for like insecticide/pesticide sprayer is perfect I prefer getting the metal or tin ones, they seem to hold up better and less problems then plastic ones cost $12-35 dollars(depending on what type and brand)--of course your preference of acid stain You can purchase acid stain by the gallon on EBay for pretty cheap(I would) or go to your local concrete supply don’t go to home depot or lowes please they are not quality concrete supplies stores. You can choose pretty much any color you need, but if you decide to change color in the middle of your work. please cleannnnn out your sprayers veryvery well before you do or your going to clog your sprayer/(also never let your sprayer nozzle completely dry with stain or clear coat inside it please, or your going to have to buy a new one ) next you also need to pick up from the same concrete store or you can also get this from lowes or home depot if you choose(clear coat is okay from home depot or lowes)Clear coat, you need to read the direction on the clear coat and make sure you get the right stuff and make sure you don’t get anything that is real slow drying or that needs direct sunlight to cure(or your going to be waiting a very long time) the brand as far as clear coat goes is not really that important as long as you get the right stuff period!!! next you will need of course some fans rotating blower fans seem to work the best if your in a hurry or if your not in that big of hurry for curing just let them air dry, this part is depending on whether your already open in your store, because know one will be allowed to walk on or even near the new coatings once you have put them down, if you do get someone clumsy and walk on them you are pretty much S.O.L. because there really isn’t anyway of getting shoe prints out of stain you could try and over stain after but your just gonna be wasting more time and energy plus you probably depending on the color wont even notice it unless you are looking for it, Okay next I am going to go over how to begin your process, Okay you will begin by reading over all directions as far as mixing and etc, once you have mixed and poured into your sprayer your ready to begin the fun and excited yet somewhat challenging part of your exercise, What you will want to do is start in the very rear of your area, thus moving forward as you work( so you don’t walk on it) begin in a little area and test color if you haven’t done so yet,(good idea to make sure you have desired color) okay now begin to evenly spray your concrete area back and forth until you seem to have a nice even clean coat if you look heavy in areas its okay once it dries you should be able to come when its dry and see that most of the overflow has been absorbed into the concrete, (this is why you cant have already cured or pre stained concrete)If you are not satisfied with the first layer you can go over the area as many time as you like with it but once it has dried it may not be able to absorb or hold color as well as you would have liked, It is very important you try and get the desired application the first time for that reason. Okay if you are wondering how to add multi colors or different designs you may add stencils to the area, and block them off with tape, to be stained different colors or assorted colors after your first application, if you see some places with what looks like they have a bunch of different colors it is because 1 they either special mixed colors 2. they just added another layer of color with a separate sprayer a little bit after the first layer (like 2 to 4 hours after) and thus getting that look or 3 they had taped off different sections or different designs and sprayed them all separate, it is time consuming but will look outstanding, I have ran out of time wife needs a ride so once again TO BE CONTINUED IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS RIGHT AWAY BEFORE I GET BACK TO THIS JUST EMAIL ME AT westcoastransport@usa.net
