Okay everyone I see people are still talking about stained concrete and the ease and the diffuclut parts, I will tell you as a new salon owner and also a former Concrete foreman, for a major construction company in southern utah, I have done insode and outside concrete for over 7 years, I have done plenty of concrete stains inside homes, and business and outside on driveways and walkways, I have been thinking alot lately about either going for the stained and stamped concrete or just the stain, there are a few things you should know before staining your concrete1. if your concrete has already been previously sealed, you must completely()very inmportant to get all the previous seal off) remove all the old seal or your going to have a very big mess with the seal peeling off in spots, and not absorbing into the concrete, also there is alot of different brands of acid stains out there I suggest you do your homework and get your phonebook out and call a local Concrete supply company, (not a concrete pouring or service company) It must be a supply depot, They can tell you all the different brands they carry, ask them what one they prefer(believe me Concrete Guys talk)They will tell you what brand is seems to do the best job, I used all different brands and the generics seemed to work as well as the fancies(you decide not my responsibility)Okay next thing 2. make sure you are prepared and know what your doing, concrete staining is very simple and you shopuld be able to DIY(do It yourself) You must make sure the area is not wet, any water will repel the stain,if you need to clean the area wait atleast 48hrs before applying the stain to make sure the concrete is completely dry,(just because it looks and feels believe me it isnt.) the next thing 3. YOu better where gloves and clothes you can get diorty, this is important your not going to get the stain off your hands very easy, and your clothes will probably be stained also permanent. (so be prepared to get dirty) Okay nexrt thing 4. make sure anything you dont wanna get stained is moved covered very well or sealed with something ,and non-pourus. okay next thing. Alright fellow friends I know this is long but i wanted to get this thread some info that is not shared very much at all believe me people dont wanna tell you how easy it is or they will be outta business. okay 5. i am going to begin the diy stages on the stain, If you dont wanna know this please dont read, I am actually heading to a movie right now and unable to finish the thread completely but i will tell everyone this If i can get some response on this thread before tonight or maybe tomorrow, I will go ahead with a diy play by play of how to acid stain your floors in great detail it is very simple once known, and i promise you all you can do it for a **** of alot cheaper then your going to pay someone to do it, I will now private message everyone in this forum to see if they are interested, if they are I will continue tonight or tomorrow thanks everyone and TO BE CONTINUED......
