Actually I believe the 300 uses a 100W or 120W ballast. The 160W units use a 140W ballast. You get the idea here. I would have to visually look at the size of the ballast again. You know, because Ergo plays games with getting salon owners to think the units are stronger then they are. GOD FORBID the ballast and lamps should actually be posted with their real power.

Now keep in mind that a TRUE 160W unit with a 160W ballast still could never get close to a 20 minute tan time even with one of the gentler New Era lamps on the market. The Gentlest New Era 160W lamps would still come in at a 12-14 min TE time depending on the lamps being used. Again, this is for a true 160W unit that is run in the 230V-240V range. Could something with less B come to the USA market. Sure, but I would not buy it. I dont need a 160W unit running a high 20 minute session.
