2 Lamps have gone out together?

Hello,

I have a Super Sundash 40 that I bought a few weeks ago with brand new lamps installed. Two lamps next to each other have gone out that are fed by the same ballast. Before I take off the acrylic from the canopy I did some easier tests.

I slid out the ballast tray with the 10 ballasts on it and unpluged the molex plug at ballast 9 & 10 and swapped them around and that showed the both ballasts where working.

Next I ohmed out each wire from ballast #10 molex plug to the cannon conector and getting good connection. The only thing I didn't ohm out yet is the other end of the cannon connector up to the lamp holders.

Last thing I'm going to do is remove the acrylic and swap out both bulds to another location. I just didn't want to have to remove the acrylic twice, once to try the last step and then again when the new lamps come in.

Any quesses what it might be?

I'm guessing both lamps went out together and the rest of the wiring is ok. But do you think it is just coincidental 2 lamps that are run from the same ballast?
Furthermore, could the ballast be taking the lamps out? I would hate to put in 2 more lamps and they get taken out again bt a faulty ballast.

What do you all think?

Thanks,

JW
