I have both the CustomBronzer 4000 (portable-ish) and the prior version the TurboBronzer 3000. They are loud - the 3000 is REALLY loud. I used to take the 4000 around to 3 salons to share, but now just keep it at one and only take it out to do a bridal party or other groups or promotional events (which is clutch). I am having technical difficulties with the spray gun and have to finagle (sp?) it to not get it all over my hands. But my clients love the results - no doubt. The booth is so not individualized - I mean, a hand-held spray is customized to every client - and they LOVE that kind of attention. Not sure if this helps, but I hope you find the right solution for you.
