I've heard much debate about wether to have an open ceiling, or to have something like a drop ceiling. The concern is what works best for the heat that is generated from the tanning beds.

I am expanding our space. Our current space has an open ceiling, and it has seemed to have done well with helping keep the salon cool. The space adjacent to us has a drop ceiling. I am planning to tear it out and leave the ceiling open. This will give us about a 16 foot open ceiling. If I leave the drop ceiling I would have 8 foot partition walls and the drop ceiling at 12 feet, so about a 4 foot gap.

Thoughts?
