You really need a thorough education on indoor tanning from operations to regulation issues. I would recommend a good ITA course or two on indoor tanning operations, indoor tanning regulatory and getting certified is a must. That will give you a good foundation on what you need to know to run and manage a tanning salon. You can also learn a lot by talking to salon owners in your immediate area. Find out everything you can about how they operate and how you might be able to do it betteer or fill a need in the marketpalce. I would also recommend that you take you time, try out as many tanning beds as you can to become familiarizes with the equipiment. go to the tanning industry trade shows and don't be afraid to hire a tanning salon consultant who can hold your hand during the entire process from planning to grand opening and beyond. This is a very competitive and seasonal industry and if you do not know what you are doing you can be out of business in less than a year. So do all your homework.
